Our journey began during the Covid pandemic. When the government announced
the lockdown, Sindhudurg remained relatively untouched by the virus. There were
no cases, but the fear and conversations about Covid were everywhere.
My parents, who come from a farming background and had worked on farms in
their youth, started spending most of their time on our farm. They both have a
deep love for farming and nature, but their jobs had previously confined their
interests to home gardening. The lockdown gave us the rare opportunity to
reconnect with our roots and grow our own vegetables. Although we had the
knowledge, we lacked practical experience. Thankfully, my aunt's family,
experienced farmers by heritage, guided us. We began planting trees and various
vegetables like radish, spinach, eggplant, ridge gourd, and okra.
Then came the second wave, which hit us hard and paused our activities.
Once the lockdowns lifted, my parents returned to their jobs. But I, despite being a
qualified mechanical engineer, felt a calling towards farming. I wanted to make a
difference for the farmers. I started growing vegetables and selling them on my
own. I also harvested seasonal fruits and sold them through Facebook and
WhatsApp.
Our farm products, including chibud, cashews, mangoes, haldi, kokum, and
jackfruit, were well-received. Customers loved the chemical-free produce, but we
couldn't keep up with the demand.
We realized we needed to scale up. We sought out other farmers who shared our
vision of growing chemical-free food. Together, we launched an online shop,
Vrundavan.in.
Vrundavan.in is where we bring the pure joy of farm-fresh products directly to
your table, free from additives or preservatives. Our mission is clear: to liberate
our people, nature, and farmers from chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Join us on this journey to preserve nature for future generations and embrace the
magic of organic farming.
